Whether you want to enjoy a sunny beautiful day lounging by the pool with a handcrafted cocktail, or casual dining during a beautiful sunset, this is the perfect spot. A view of downtown in a modern, inviting atmosphere, makes this spot atop the Hotel Palomar the ideal location for unwinding and enjoying the beautiful weather that Phoenix has to offer. Lustre offers up a fun and creative menu made from locally sourced ingredients meant to compliment the feel of being outdoors under a crisp blue Arizona sky. My first trip to the rooftop of Hotel Palomar instantly transported me to vacation mode. All I wanted was something fresh and fun to eat and something fruity to sip on; and believe me – they covered both very well!

I started by ogling the view and acting like a tourist; snapping shots from every angle and trying to understand how the sky could possibly be quite that blue. Then I moved on to the important stuff – food and drinks! We ordered 2 cocktails to start; the Beach Bunny & a classic Mojito. The Beach Bunny sounded too fun to pass up. This one has Milagro tequila,‏ elderflower, mango, lime. This drink is topped with a skewer of fresh fruit and made me want to do the hula. The classic Mojito is always a fan favorite, sweet and crisp, it was the perfect combination of Rum, lime, mint, and just a little simple syrup.

Chicken & Fig Flatbread

The Chicken & Fig flatbread was our choice for our rooftop afternoon excursion. This flatbread was crunchy and thin and topped with some of our favorite items. It has pulled rotisserie chicken, seared onion, fig jam, goat cheese. Not only am I a sucker for a goat cheese, but I’m a major sucker for a good fig jam and this dish definitely didn’t disappoint. The perfect dish for picking and conversing, it contributed a wonderful element to a fun and sunny summer day atop one of our favorite hotels. Downtown Phoenix impresses us more and more every day and Lustre Rooftop Bar at Hotel Palomar is a MUST! We will be back soon to enjoy a poolside day in a cabana with a cocktail in hand.

Cheers and Bon Appétit, Food Lovers!
